I have one question though: what's up with the nail nick visible on the back scale? Because there is just the steel locking liner, no tool, or at least appears it to be this way. Right? Looks that they used there the wrong back scale maybe.

Maybe the spring on the back is a secret back tool, with no nail nick.. you just have to pull REALLY hard to get it out.

Which one is that grey scaled?

In addition to the Blaze Orange there are two other orange handles available in Europe. Think I got mine from German ebay.

The original Rangers also had a variety of colors, including a medium green from Germany (second from left) and a translucent blue from Canada.

Very nice indeed! Just, only if they wouldn't feel so hollow with those handles. To me at least. Why I like the EvoWood Ranger 55, I hope Wenger will follow up with more Ranger models in walnut handles.

Few more photos of this EvoWood Ranger 55 with a plain Ranger 51 (no clip and no cutout on the back). I like them both but I prefer the 55 for the handles alone. Both have a locking main blade:

These are nice. Never been on my "list" as they are large and locking but I can see what a useful bit of kit they are

Never knew they came in so many cool colours/materials either.

Nice. That'll go head to head with a Spyderco Endura. More user-friendly lock release and more comfortable grip too.

The lanyard actually makes sense on this model, since it'll never be in the way of other tools.
