Problem with Leatherman Universal Tool Adapter
on: March 21, 2008, 02:34:50 PM
My tool adapter can't fit newer LM models. I had this one for 10 years now. It has two metal tips sticking out of it(the encircled portion on the picture below) unlike the one above. Is there anything I can do about it? I feel that it's just a waste of money to buy a new one.

Teofilo,

There is a new adapter called the Universal Tool Adapter.  It's on the Leatherman site here (use the pull-down menu to see the 2 different models - Standard & Universal).

Hope that helps.

Tom

You can see this blowup if you click on "View Large" on the image on that Leatherman page.

See the difference in the two adapter models at the top left?

You don't need a tool adapter with the new tools since they have bit drivers and the bit driver extension piece.  The extension fits any 1/4 hex bit.  The adapters came out for the older tools before the Charge, etc.  Besides, the bit drive extender is smaller and easier to carry around than a adapter.
