Sak'd Nails!
on: February 26, 2013, 01:46:57 AM
Is there a secret to keep from breaking nails on Vics? Swear every one of my finger & thumb nails are down next to nothing thanks to my new Climber.

Wenger SI is a lot easier to open things with, larger nail nicks.

I assume its just genetics. I never bend my nail on any knives or tools. You could try using the corner of your nail.

I found that when I had drank a lot of diet pop my nails tended to break quite easily. Supposedly it's from the aspartame. Maybe you need more calcium in your diet.

I have the opposite going on. Since carrying a SAK, I no longer bite my nails.

They look, dare I say, dashing. :dd:

If it's that tough to open, it might really need some oil.

Maybe need some calcium in your diet? I kid, I kid.

IMO, SAK's have always had one of the more forgiving pulls on a backspring. If it is tight, maybe a flush with compressed air and a soak in warm soapy water and/or mineral oil will help loosen the blades up.

Go to your local pharmacy.  Look for biotin with the vitamins.  One a day.  Helps you hair grow thicker too.

Do you have a key to the EverLast chastity belt in there too?

Thanks. That sure sounds a lot more flavourful than Aussie cement. +5  :D

Not meaning to derail the thread but that line reminds me of the classic Ronnie John gag as Australia's famous standover man - Chopper. Brilliant stuff

Biotin supplements will strengthen your nails.  Works in horses too.  Takes about 4 weeks to see results (ie 4 weeks to grow enough new nail to notice a difference.)
