that's a really nice collection. I have heard that Puma's quality was amazing up until the 90s when it was taken over. Is this correct in your view? I was thinking of getting a small Buck-110 style folding knife from Puma, but wasn't sure if the modern quality is as good, or if I should just wait around for a vintage one to show up. how does that officer's knife compare in quality or generally to a normal SAK?

Personally i would wait for a vintage Puma to show up, preferably from before 1985.With Puma (and a few other German brands) you can safely say: "the older, the better"Quality and finishing were things a Puma employee was proud of, and you can tell from the knives.Sadly those days are long gone, and i won't have any of the current Puma knives, even for free. The Puma Officers knife is comparable with a current Victorinox on the area's of build quality and walk & talk. The woodsaw however isn't as sharp as the one on a Vic, and the awl on a Vic has a better design and is ground sharp, the Puma awl isn't.
Great looking puma 65bellett,and I agree with Kwakster, the older ones are the best.
Kwakster , I have a Puma Buddy exactly like the one you had shown , in great condition, never used , but no sheath, never had it. I got in around 1976 or so. never was able to get it sharp
