Hi from France/UK
on: March 01, 2013, 11:16:05 PM
Hello everyone.
My name's Greg, I'm a French distance student and am currently in the UK for a year (as a language assistant).

I've started looking at multitools a few years ago when I moved in a student residence without my father's tools at hand.

As I'm still a skint student and that Leathermans (and other good brands) are insanely expensive in Europe compared to the US, I only own some cheap (but efficient so far) tools.
The LM Wave v.1 clone (rebranded Mammut I think) - and recently the silverline LM crunch clone I saw on this forum (a great tool as I go to work with my bike). Both have blades removed due to the UK law (I work in a college anyway, where carrying a blade would be foolish).
I hope to find some tool like an actual Wave v.2 or a LM Sidekick when I'll be back to France. Probably on Ebay.

Cheers.

Greg

I should add that I recently purchased a Gerber BG Compact when it was at its cheapest on Amazon recently. I wanted a light multitool I coud have on me at any time (I also removed the blade on this one).

By the way, I don't grasp the link between my avatar and the TiNi SOG ^^'

It's the gold colour in both (have a look at this SOG tool)

Oddly enough the TiNi SOGs always remind me of C-3PO. :D
