Without question the Skeletool, in my case the original standard model, is one of the most useful items I carried in Iraq and Afghanistan. The main blade is easily accessible with one hand while the pliers and interchangeable bit feature w/ the optional bit set proved perfect for light duty use. On many occasions a bit from my bit set was all I had available that fit some odd fastener. Along with a Smith’s compact sharpener it serves me well to this day.
Update
I’m currently traveling for work and stopped by local liquor mart and selected six bottles of beer, one each from countries I have visited, funny none from the Middle East… Anyway most of them had crown non twist off caps and to my great fortune I just used the carabineer / opener feature of my Skeletool for the first time.
Cheers,
