Switching scissors
on: March 06, 2013, 01:10:35 AM
Is it possible to put blast scissors on the wingman while still having the one hand open and locking features? Im still a newbie, and the wingman scissors are garbage, so i really dont wont to do serious modifying. Any Help? thanks

Don't think you can.

First the pivots are the wrong size.

Second, the locking mechanism are different.

Third, the design of the scissors are so different that it won't be really be effective

Fourth, the wingman is poo haha (just joking, my personal pref :) )

Fifth, you'd be better off modding some Vic scissors to fit into it. They about the right size.

what do you think is 'wrong' with the wingman scissors ?
mine work 'adequately'. granted something like a set of vic scissors are loads better, but i think they hold up well compared to Gerber scissors.
what do you cut?

Sharpen them? Peen the pivot a bit so they are tighter? I am running out of ideas.

BUT then you'd have to give up fishing altogether ! if you fall into water with a 'Surge' you'll drown for sure  ::)
