Hi From Washington.... STATE
on: March 25, 2013, 07:57:30 PM
I'm not much on introductions, but I thought I'd say hello.
I've been a huge Swiss Army Knife fan ever since MacGuyver went on the air.  After I graduated from college with my ME degree, I managed to get a job at Imperial Schrade corp. in Ellenville NY.  I designed a few knives for them, before they went out of business in 2004 (not my fault I swear).
I got hired by Leatherman Tool as a Senior Design Engineer and moved out to the West coast.  I worked there for about 3 years when I left for an opportunity at a start-up company (not related to the multitool industry).    I still love knives and tools, and my 8 year old son and I are currently designing his first pocket knife.
So there it is.  Hope to be of help.

G'day & a big welcome mate  :D

I would be keen to hear what knives you designed for Schrade  Did you do any work on their multis mate .

What models were you involved with in your 3 years at Leatherman

VERY cool that you & your son are designing a pocket knife together  :salute: :salute:

Welcome, you do know you need to post pics once your son's knife is done, or better post a project log.

I did do some work on multitools.  I started working there when they were right in the middle of designing the knife line, and I helped finish them up.  I was somewhat responsible for the Charge AL series (long story there), as the cost of Titanium had gone through the roof.
My last project before I left was the Skeletool which is the only multitool I designed from the ground up.
