Compact or Golfer?
on: April 09, 2013, 06:56:49 AM
I picked up a Compact off Ebay for a good price for my first mod. I intended to create a Scientist for carry. When it arrived I am struck first by how minty it is except for some very light scuffing on the scales. Then I see it has plus scales but no pin hole, grooved corkscrew, scissors with a screw, and no hook. I have new Scientists, one with a pin and one without, so I guess this falls near the early run of Scientists. Does this date to the 91mm Golfer time or was it called a Compact?

I don't guess it maters if I take a drill to it, but was just curious. Is it unusual enough that it should be rescued from the chopping block. I've used up quite a few SAKs in my time but am still new to the idea of collecting them.

Thanks

Mag glass?  Edit: nevermind - i misread your post.  Sounds like a '87-90 Golfer, based on Sakwiki
