Micra USA edition
on: April 21, 2013, 03:23:57 PM
Just bought this Micra, Mint in Box. Any good as a collectable? I'm from the UK, so this isn't something I would value too highly. I'm willing to swap for a Juice KF4 or Juice Pro. Is that a fair trade?

I would say the USA-Micra is a must-have for the serious Leatherman collector. However, given that they were not priced all that expensively at the time, many collectors I know already have one, and as such might not be willing to trade a higher-priced Kf4 or Juice Pro for it even up. The fact that yours is new in the pack will definitely make it more attractive though. :)

Also the USA edition is a bit more special cause it doesn't have the scale cutout for tweezers.

I have one that I won on a 4th of July Leatherman contest. Was a few years ago, and Leatherman was fairly new to facebook. The 2009 Special Edition has a thing aluminum cover over regular Micra chasis.

Paint job on the white wasn't very good, and these are collectable. Leatherman has a 30th Year Anniversary Edition Micra coming out around July too.  :D

Note: A SAK toothpick can fit in between the tongs of the tweezers.  :tu:

Is that US$20.50? That is very cheap! I might get Dunc/Bruce to get me some more.

My red one has that thin aluminum cover as well.  I'm assuming all the colored ones nowadays are like this.  I didn't even realize it was an extra layer until I saw someone's close up pics of their stainless steel Micra.  The USA one is nice though.

Yes. With the economy as it is some things are not bringing as much as they once did.   :)
