Easy little Mora mod.

Hi everyone.

I'm a fan of lanyards on my knives. I also recently got into Moras, and now have my second on the way. About the only thing I don't like about them is they don't have any way to put a lanyard on them.

Well, I figured out a way to solve that problem. I had a couple of spare threaded eyes, like the kind you use with a hook on a gate or door for some light duty privacy. I heated up my leather awl, and used it to make a small pilot hole in the butt end of my orange Mora 2000, and threaded the eye in with my S2 pliers. Then I put a lanyard on using the eyelet. Here's how it turned out.

Thanks guys! It was a lot easier to do than I thought. I wanted to avoid actually drilling a hole with a bit, and it turns out that just heating up the tip of my scratch awl made a deep enough hole to easily pilot the eyelet in. I used a small size, I think's about 1/8" dia. and a single piece of 550 fits perfect with just a bit of room to spare. Gonna do the same thing with my new Heavy Duty Companion F when it comes in.
