Greetings from San Diego

Hey all,

Long time lurker, new poster obviously...

Can't tell you how much I enjoy the site, it's great!

About me, well to the best of my memory I've had pocket knives as long as I've had pockets.  I am an enthusiast and somewhat collector of all things utilitarian; knives, tools, flashlights, firearms.

I'm located in San Diego and so happy I got off my lazy duff and decided to register...

Now to think of something to contribute to the forum...

Howdy from Texas!¡! So, do you have a preference or favorite MT or knife? What do you have so far?

Thank you all for the warm welcome!

I do carry a pocket knife everywhere, it does vary by situation but mostly it's a one hand opener of the lock back variety.  I don't carry a MT as often other than the Swiss tool and Boker VOX that are always on my keychain.

As far as what I have, knife wise, a lot would be a good place to start.  Something from darn near every manf. and multiples from quite a few.  MT's, I have several SAK's, Leathermen and Gerbers, not to mention a few off brand types.

The gaggle of stuff I have ranges from 60+ years old to current, so I'm not really a fanboy of any particular type other than I do not prefer liner locks and I don't buy Buck products anymore.

Why no more Bucks?  Long story short, I bought two knifes for my son and nephew (Boy Scouts) which were prominently labeled "Made in the USA" on the packaging (it even had the Flag on it) but when opened the blades were marked "made in china".  So I don't support them anymore.  As a side note Bass Pro Shops practices excellent customer service if you didn't know.  They took my return of the knives apologetically and pulled all the Buck knives that were labeled the same way till they got an answer why there was a "mislabeling" issue.
