Leatherman had the 30th Anniversary Charge TTi's done by Texas Tool Crafters, and I'm fairly certain they did the work on these Waves too. :)

That's got to be better than money in the bank!! I'm so jealous  :drool: :drool: :drool:

// Leatherman 30th Anniversary 24K Gold Wave Prototype

To celebrate the 30th Anniversary of the Leatherman Tool Group, Cabelas was given this special gift by Tim and the team at Leatherman to produce marketing materials for an extremely limited run of 60 tools.  This was the prototype for that limited run.  The campaign was so successful that a Supertool / Micra set was offered in much greater quantities and a gold plated Charge set was also made available in a limited run of 1000 units.

As strange as it is, photos of this series are almost as hard to find as the tool themselves.

I think I have seen some references to the Super Tool/Micra set, but not the gold plated Charges and certainly not the limited gold plated Wave. Then again, I have only been collecting Leatherman tools for a year, so there is a great amount I do not know.

 :tu: Neat pic.  I remember getting my 30th anniversary ST300/Micra set like it was yesterday.  I hadn't been collecting really at that point and spending that kind of money was scary.  I still have my set and very happy I do. 

Time flies thats for sure.

I was told this from Leatherman regarding the signature, “The signature is applied by laser marking through the gold plating.”
