I still really love my Pulse. I find that it is the perfect farting around the house tool. Y aknow when you just have to punch out the list your wife gives you of things to be fixed?

It definitely is more of an "urban" multi.  It's not something you want to be stuck with in the woods.

If it had a saw it would be great for that 2 IMHO  ;)

of course an awl would be great 2 ::) :D

Yeah, that's what my thought was: saw + awl = woods tool.

...that's why everyone that has a Pulse needs a ST200 also.  :pok:

That's a great combo choice.  My Pulse has been my main EDC plier-tool since I got it and, as I said before I always pair it with a Farmer or an OHT.  I think the EP is a great one also--you really can't beat that little sheepsfoot blade for a durable cutter.

I still think the best Vic combos are: Std. SwissTool/Climber and Std. Spirit/Explorer/Scientist! I am not going to be using my Scientist anymore.. I had no idea that they were so rare!

I have an old Pulse that's still my EDC despite the years of abuse I gave it. The wire cutters are sloppy from cutting chain link fence, the small screwdriver is busted off from doing something it was never meant to do, and I managed to break off the tip of one of the pliers pryng out a cotter pin. I had to grind the other one down to match so my needle nose pliers are a little more blunt these days :)

Besides that I love my Pulse and still carry it every day.

:o Man that thing sounds like it has been run through it :ahhh It's great that it's still in service though :tu: Because when it all boils down to it there just tools and they are meant to be used

Whenever Kwakster gets back from vacation he might be able to help you with the plier head  he might even have the driver. Would be great to get it back like new.  Guess that's why you wanted to know about modding in the other thread :D

Ya know. At first the plier head bothered me, but it really grew on me. Just another battle scar :D

I wouldn't mind having a new small screwdriver, and maybe some new scissors though.

Plus all you would have to have is a couple of Kick clips and those parts to make the change :tu: The knurled screws on the plier head end are slightly bigger in diameter  1mm or so I think :)

I'm afraid i don't have good news about that Pulse, all spare parts for this model were thrown in the dumpster by my collegue long ago, there is nothing left.
At the moment i'm still on vacation in Florida, Sarasota to be precise, but this i can tell you.

Lol - that went through my mind too. Shame there's no more of the old plier heads :(

Does you Pulse have a date stamp P-11 shooter? And do your plier heads say "USA" or "Tool" on the heads? It looks to me like a later vintage PST plier head might fit in a Pulse, it should be easy enough to pick one of those up from ebay or such like. I'd check with Kwakster that it would work before spending anything though, as I've not tried it.

This is a hastily taken pic showing Old Pulse, very late model PST, and a later Pulse - it looks doable!

I used to come here a lot.

Thanks guys, this morning we'll check out of our hotel and drive to St.Petersburg, or Tampa, or Clearwater, not yet sure.
Anyone on the forum in that neighbourhood by the way that can give me some pointers about what to see when we're there ?
