Leatherman CLEAR Bit Kit? & security bits?
on: July 12, 2013, 05:18:00 AM
I know the security bits thing is all out there. But I was curious if there was a tool company that would make a couple of theses kits with the security hole? OR I could drill them on a press?

Saw the Leatherman CLEAR Bit holder many times online over the years and never really payed too much attention to them. Lately I find myself looking at the black holder to often trying to find the right bit.

Thought I would be able to find these suckers and NOPE. They are Not made anymore. \

anyone have any of these? are they as durable? or is this a ficticious product?

Don't know about the bits themselves, but I know some users have reported that the clear plastic holder is not as durable as the black version, apparently it is liable to crack/split quite easily and then of course it's useless as a bit holder.

I have a set, but I haven't really used them. If its the same plastic they used for the once Juice belt mounted clip, than it wouldn't be as string as the black ones.

Has anyone taken a Bit kit and drilled the small hole for the security bits? I would be willing to pay for such a service. My press was removed and I have no access to another one.

You could always take a regular security bit and thin it with a grinder. Leatherman bits after all are just thinned normal sized bits.
