Brands Hatch Historic SuperPrix
on: July 14, 2013, 03:47:00 PM
I'd been considering the idea of going down to the Goodwood Festival of Speed, but a friend got in touch, suggested the Historic Superprix at Brands Hatch!

Being far closer, and a fraction of the ticket price :ahhh

Public transport is,I have to say,not the best way to get to Brands, with horrid delays and snafus in both directions, but with perfect weather, you couldn't complain that much!

Staff were massively friendly and helpful, and the paddock was open to all visitors :woohoo:

So,of course out came the camera >:D

Thing of course about Motorsport is the sound!

Historic Formula 2

And Touring Cars, ranging from 2003 back to 1970

There is no beginning,or ending, and for this we are thankful, cos now is hard enough to understand!

Nice photos, really nice cars!

I've been to Goodwood Festival of Speed a few times and it is fantastic. But I never had to pay as a friend worked there (press photos etc) and I would help him carry his bags.

Long story cut short, he blagged a ride in a Ford RS200, this meant I was now the guy with the camera, I didn't have a clue what I was doing, but did somehow manage to get one half ok pic.........GO!!!

I had to turn away quick after taking the photo, and walk away from the dust storm.

Love that BMW! I hope nobody blamed for engine failure or other mishaps over there. I don't share that privilege with anyone.

RS200

It was a bit special too, it was the Stigs old car. I mean the real Sting, Stig Blomqvist - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stig_Blomqvist

Around 1/2 hour before taking that photo, the real Stig was signing his name on the wing of that car. Best bit was having a chat with him, such a funny and nice guy. I fun day out.

If I remember correct, the engine was the  Evolution version with 750+ BHP, a tad nippy.
