Any pictures of the outside of the building?
Sorry, I forgot.  :twak: The small picture on their website does a decent job though.

Do you happen to remember the name of the steel vendor in Michigan?
Sorry too, she never said... I know a lot of it came in big 800lb rolls though.

Who do we know in Michigan who might deal in 800lb rolls of steel...?

Thanks to NeitherExtreme for posting this thread -- I had an opportunity to briefly stop by Leatherman recently. I had no idea they had a store until I read up on your visit. Again, thanks!

Unfortunately I didn't have enough time for a tour, but I did make it out of the store with a few items. Needed another belt holster, a couple of Micra sheaths, Wave pocket clip, and snagged a Squirt as a gift (not for me).

I could have spent more, but I tried to contain myself.  :)

(It wasn't easy.)

I hope that I get to make it there someday.  Although, I guess that I would have to find a way to make it back home.  I'd spend all my cash. :)

Yeah, seeing the accesories right there with no shipping attatched was pretty tempting  :o Did you happen to notice/ask if any of those customs have been sold, or about prices? If you ever get a chance to go on the tour, go for it! (unless you have no nerd/geek instincts, in which case it might not be as fun as it was for me :D )

I didn't ask about the customs, but that tour is really tempting. Hopefully next time I am in the area...

Just wanted to add for all those who might actually get a chance to go- The tours are only at scheduled times and only have limeted space. There's info about it on their site. I called ahead and had no problems.  :)

I love watching that clip! (I'm a manufacturing guy myself, and the steps they go through in producing a multitool is a lot like the work we do at my shop)

Too bad there isn't an hour long extended-play version available. :(  ;)

Thanks for sharing nietherextreme, going on a leatherman factory pirglimage is definitly a must to all Leatherheads. Its one of my to do list, but scared I might spent all my money on the factory shop and won't be able to go home  :D

Thanks, it was my pleasure, of course. ;) If you want to make sure you don't spend too much, just make sure you're used to "street" prices before you go. Then all the full MSRP price tags will keep your wallet in your pocket. Well, except for their specials, those can be one of a kind. :)
