Semptec Ceramic KnifeWhy did I buy it:Stuff you don't use still needs love. Especially cheap stuff rusts, batteries leak etc. Ceramic knifes are extremely low maintenance. Besides I got it for less than 10$ at a pearl store (half price

).
Built quality:I kinda like the design and it feels solid, though the clip is loose. the wooden sides don't fit well and are sticking out a bit. There is a major design flaw, when closed the back end of the blade sticks out of the frame. All screws were damaged during assembly and "worn out". There is a lot of space between the blade and the sides/scales.
When open the blade locks and is really solid

.
Blade Shape:I quite like the blade shape, its excellent for food preparation (especially smearing some spread on a bread works well, something I don't like doing with a thin blade like on a vic).
Durability & Sharpness:It was sharp out of the box, sharp enough to cut a ripe tomato easily. I took it out to some sandstone caves and did some carving, edge retention was excellent, it is still sharp. I also dropped the knife from 2m on its tip landing on concrete five times, no breaking though there are some scratches.
PROS
- Excellent edge retention
- Like the blade shape
CONS
- Really cheaply produced
- Lots of sharp edges
- Lots of space for dirt to accumulate
Conclusion:Its not an EDC knife, it is just not good enough for that (probably also won't last). However, this is the perfect knife to store in a kit, when you are going to use it, it will be there for you. Personally, I don't like the knife enough, I am hooked on the idea of a ceramic blade though for my first aid kit.

It wouldn't be the internet without people complaining.
