Sounds like a good deal Paul,but I can't think of a LM I'd swap a Spirit for!
There is no beginning,or ending, and for this we are thankful, cos now is hard enough to understand!

Wise move, mate! If you have a multitool that works well for you, it would be wrong to trade it away on a whim just to try another tool ..... but you still need a Spirit X though Paul ... and a Swisstool CS Plus  >:D

I'm pleased you have 'withdrawn' this Paul, I didn't want to say anything, each to their own and all that, but I think YOU would have been disappointed with this swap !
don't get me wrong the Spirit is probably one of my all time favourite multis BUT it's a Very different animal to the Surge.
I know you 'use' your surge at work, and you've also got a love for the swisschamp (me too  ;))
allow me to prattle on a bit and you may understand my concerns mate.
I had a swisstool for a while (lovely bit of kit) but I really didn't like it as much as I thought I should. it feels sturdy and well made, but it is a lump and the lack of scissors was just too much  ::)
so started my search for 'The one' which led me here
after lots of research I got me a Surge, wow what a tool ! but I found in reality it wasn't quite for me, I wish i'd got the Wave first
then that wicked man, Kirk13, convinced me I needed a Spirit (he has a lot to answer for) even going as far as pointing out an absolute bargain from Bmot (top chappy to deal with)
the Spirit is kind of the love-child of a swisschamp and a SOB PPP in my opinion. she's NOT a brutish monster like the Surge, but more of a precise pocket tool, don't think I mean it's weak in any way, but it isn't a large pair of pliers that i'd feel happy cutting barbed wire with.
I'm now overloaded with choice, and it's not unheard of for me to carry both Spirit AND wave they feel so different I wouldn't call it on which I prefer. If you could have a fiddle with a Spirit first before committing  yourself to one or the other i'd say it might be a good thing ???
what about coming to the Meet next month ?

Glad i had my reading glasses on michael  :D ,this is a fare point,i still like the old wave for a more basic but cool and my first mt,for work (maintenance ) i prefere a larger mt,the new wave worked well as did the sog powerlock, but the surges bit adapter combined with my modded bit adapter and the blade exchanger makes this a perfect mt for the jobs i need it for,ive had a swisstool before and although great fiddle factor it wasnt for me at the time,i can wait a bit longer :D sadly the meeting is too far for me michael, ill make it one day  :tu:
