Wishlists!
on: September 19, 2013, 11:10:13 AM
Soooo... Christmas is coming up (sortof) And I was wondering, what's on your wishlists? (you can never be too early with this kind of thing, right?  )

I got a bit inspired by the 'what SAK do you want to buy next' thread, so I'll start with my answer to that one:

For SAKs:
Swisschamp
Spartan Lite
Alox Cadet
Vic Hunter XS (that's the one without the saw)
A new-style DAK
Mountaineer
Wenger Ranger Aluinghi
'92 Vic Soldier
'92 Wenger SI
Original Vic or Wenger Soldier (You know, a real old one)
....

For other MT's:
LM OHT
LM MUT
LM Skeletool CX
LM Squirt PS4
LM Crater C33t
LM new Surge
Gerber Recoil
Gerber Flik
SOG Powerlock

Miscellaneous things:
A nice Sling backpack (like Maxp Sitka, 5.11 Rush Moab 10, or something like that)
Casio G-shock (an analog one, preferably)
A nice dress watch (like the Vic 'officers day date' watch)
Benchmade Mini Griptilian (the one with the thumbhole, preferably)

I think that's it (for now)

So, how about you guys?

I have some that I would love to find (but not thinking I'll get any them in time for this Christmas, let alone all of them).  A man can dream, right ?  (this is a "wish" list, after all   )

Gerber MP650 (evolution) military version with pouch
Gerber MP600 colours (Yellow, Green, Blue, White)
Early LM PSTs (Cabela's and Early Winters catalogue versions, hollow screw version)
Japanese LM PST with hollow rivets
LM original Super Tools; BO and BO CC.  (CC = Cap Crimper pliers)
LM Super Tool 200; SS CC and BO CC
knock-offs of Kershaw A100 (Sheffield Crocodile with OHO blade and straight jaws, Bulit)
original SOG Micro ToolClip SEKI, Japan version (yellow in mint condition)
TiN (gold) SOG Crosscut

Edit:  I know some of these (eg LM ST BO) are currently available on eBay, but I am not ready to pay silly prices  (eg $US160 for a used one) unless I get really desperate.

SAKs:
None - happy with everything I've got now, and really ought to review the spares that are floating around that never get used. Some will be slung in a box for potential modding at some point in future (some were bought specifically for that), but others seem to have no purpose. If they were bought to try out or for a reason that no longer applies, I really ought to move them along.

MTs:
Again these need reviewing and there are a few which can be moved on, but there are a couple of things I'd maybe like ...

Paladin PT-510 - I did have one, but it's gone missing

Gerber Diesel? I keep eyeing this up and "nearly" buying it, but then changing my mind. I'm pretty sure it'll be to big for the pocket, and never make displace other larger tools from bag carry or specific purpose (boat etc) use  :-\ Basically I want one to play with, but can't see it being a keeper  ;)

Knifeless MP600 Mod? Again something I keep considering and keep bouncing between "really want one" and "grow up, you're just wanting it for the sake of it"  :P

Spirit X - I'd like a spare!  ;)

MP400 with Corkscrew - I'd like a spare knifeless mod!  :D

You know what ..... there are no multitools or SAKs that I can think of which I don't already own that I really want. NONE!!!  :-\ I have ones I should get rid of, but none that I should really replace them with  I've tried everything I want to try with the older stuff, and none of the new stuff from any of the makers is getting me very excited

I doubt that very much  :D :D I know what you mean though, a few people seem to be getting very "settled" in their tool choices  :)

I actually am in the similar "settled" mentality, but I still have a small wishlist nonetheless ;)

SAKs:
Explorer Plus (even though I had one at one point and used it for parts in my Yeochamp, I still
realy like the it and think I may want to get it again)
Champion Plus? (not sure on this one, but I've been discussing it on here recently, and curiosity
may get the best of me >:D)

Multitools:
Original Wave (been on my list for quite a while, just haven't ended up getting one yet)
Pulse? (Unsure on this one currently as it's more out of curiosity that I want it, and I'm not sure I'd
have a spot for it in my rotation)
Original SuperTool? (another curiosity as the older LMs just seem to be in their own league in terms
of build quality and durability, based on what I've read here and my
                              PSTs/PSTII)

Misc:
Casio G-shock watch (I've become interested in getting one of these recently as they get a lot of
love around here, and I could use a good watch like this)
Photon lights (I love these and want to have one for each of my SAKs)

Of course, this list is subject to change (as in adding to it ;)) based on anything new coming out that may be desirable to me.

Whoa, that's a big wish Enki. Maybe some day.

As for me, I wish for a DAK or a GAK (torn a bit between those 2), a good quality single AAA flashlight (I'd be happy with a single AA as well as long as they aren't Maglite), military poncho, a few oz of Obernauf's Heavy duty LP and a 35 to 40L backpack.

So 5 things that shouldn't be overly expensive

BINGO! :D

I was surfing youtube and stumbled upon some beauty pageant question fails. And then came this thread. ;)

I'm pretty well covered by now for most of my tool needs and am not actively seeking any new ones. I haven't bought a new SAK since July (Ranger 55), a multi since May (LM Mini) and a flashlight since January (BLF Mini). Considering how many a month I used to buy before and the "bad influence" this place has on ones wallet I consider this an achievement. :P

I'd love to get a single AA headlamp though. Zebralight, Spark or maybe something else.

And world peace. :D

I would like to get a 2007 Soldier so I can get my sons name engraved on it and give  it to him as a gift.

I can't really think of anything that I'm looking for, for myself though.

I've owned most of the single AA Zebralight cool white headlamps (and still got nearly all of them as I like my ZLs  :tu: ), so if you have any questions about the different beam patterns (full flood, diffused partial flood, "regular" spot + spill) feel free to ask. It makes a significant difference to what tasks they are best suited to.

Wish lists ...?

For some strange reason I find myself now wanting the obsolete models!

LM anniversary models 10th, 20th, 25th

And some of the mp600 variants, namely the trail rider.

Other than those I'm more or less sorted.

My next quest will be "The" books!!...ouch

Just remembered Paladin 510, 525 and Swisstool RS, Vic timekeeper

WHIRLED PEAS

For multitools, hmmm.....

A good drill press is very multipurpose, as is a belt sander.
Vic Hunter XT with a good clip.
Vic Golfer in carrying condition (so ugly scales are ok, but everything important tight and sound) with a key ring.

Some Pelican cases
a small mountain of ammo. or cash. I can use both.
