so I just won a little ebay auction.   $12.27 for 3 VICs and 1 Wenger  (shipping was $6.95)

the Wenger is a traveler

the VICS are a tinker, Super Tinker, and a Troubleshooter.

the trouble shooter needs new scales, and I was curious what people think would look great.

I love custom scales, but do not have the talent to make them, horn, wood, circuit boards, abolone, and tons of other beautiful materials i have seen.

anybody have custom scales they would like to sale?  or maybe even really nice scales or plus scales?

thank you for your help.  I have wanted to replace the scales on one of my SAKs, but I have a hard time taking scales off of knives that are just fine.  I have been luck on my junk SAK purchases, and do not have the heart to take off a scale that is in good shape.

If I can help, let me know

Well, it's obviously a matter of personal opinion, but while I think scales made of exotic materials look great, I get way too much use from the scale tools to want to do without them.  Also, any used or non-factory scales will take at least some additional effort to attach and possibly shape/fit.

Were I in your shoes, I would go to EDCSource and buy a brand new pair of factory plus scales from FelineVet.  Being factory new, they should snap right on.  The plus scales are the same price as the standard scales, so might as well get the additional tool slots.  Seems he is listing black and sapphire at present, and of those two the black looks way nicer, IMHO.

Nice score, btw.   :tu:

else there are various dealers that can sell you authentic Vic scales, though sadly i cant recommend any in particular.

I put a set of black 'plus' scales on my Troubleshooter when I first got it.

You can never go wrong with black. :)

You'll dig it. It's a really great set of tools.

I put mine on a P-7 clip and hang it in the right pocket next to the seam. Doesn't even bother me.
