I have only good things to say about Sparrows . I was volunteering at a Maker's Fair in Toronto , in the lockpick village . The head Honcho came around and donated three Kickstarter sets , and six cutaway cylinders . Very nice guy , he has donated a bunch more cutaway cylinders .
The picks are very sensative , and well finished .

One of the biggest bugbears is getting tension wrench pressure right . Sparrows gives you lots of options in that department , unlike some others .
Start out with just trying to get 1 , or 2 pins , get the feel , see whats happening , then add more pins .
Have fun , the night school set is by far the best beginners set I've seen .

It's fun to do it. Although improvised tools sometimes suck
Solving problems you didn't know you had in the most obscure way possible

I did play around a bit though mostly with padlocks. However, padlocks are easiest opened with a shim.
But if you ever need a challenge, I think I have a KABA20-cylinder lying around somewhere
It wouldn't be the internet without people complaining.

I used to do it. But that was in dial-up internet times. That limited number of resources I could choose from, and I didn't understand english all that well yet. So I spent most of the time reinventing methods of making lockpicking tools. And the fact that even the cheap door locks in my country have two spool pins didn't help either.
By now I have pirated quite an extensive library of pdf-s on the subject of lockpicking, safecracking and similar topics, but have no time to actually do it.
