Hello guys,I'm Alex, and just looking for buying my first multi tool, as I am a lot outdoors for hiking, MTB, 4x4 and backcountry skiing. At the top of my list is the Leatherman Super 300.would love to have a multi tool with a metal saw, but that is very rare - it is to be found in Super Tool 300 EOD, but at the expense of having only the needle nose pliers, and losing the regular pliers.Do you have any suggestions?
@bmot: thx for the advice, can you please confirm that the Surge can be used with regulat t-shank jigsaw blades, like these http://www.boschtools.com...etail.aspx?pid=1326#specs ?Then this may well be the solution for me, as it is easy to carry a spare saw blade. It also needs the screwdriver bits - compared to the 4 screwdrivers standard of the Super Tool 300
It depends, if you have the patience, you can buy the new-style Surge
Welcome to the forum! Did you consider the swisstool? It has a metal saw and is around the same size as the supertool 300.

I ended up (or should I say started up) buying the Wave - and I am very happy with it so far!I am looking to the following mods:- bit driver locking at 90 degrees angle- hacksaw blades made to fit in the lanyard / pocket clip locking slot (http://forum.multitool.or...scussion/charge-saws/150/)- strap cutting hook on the serrated blade (or maybe replacement blade with a hook)
@enki_ck: Thank you for pointing out the topic about the 90 degrees locking screwdriver tool! I am also looking at this mod http://forum.multitool.or...o-regular-14%27-hex-bits/ because it seems very useful (to me) to be able to use regular hex bits. They are easier to find in a variety of types - and one can select what to carry depending on his needs.will post pics soon - probably I'll have to start a new topic.
@bmot: I am aware of that add-on they sell but prices are high here, and most probably I have an older adapter that sits in a drawer and that may meet the grinder
