I agree with you Bob. I also have the same issue, but mostly with my fingers sliding off of the lock mechanism as they really didn't give you anything to grab onto. The scissors could have potential damaging effects on a careless user. It happened to me once already. If you are looking and paying attention to what you’re doing when you put away the scissors, probably not much. However, if you’re not and you close them on your leg while you’re looking at something else...beware. :D

Thanks for the warning :salute: But to be honest, this issue with the lock releases is SO bad that it renders the whole tool nearly worthless in my opinion. I don't foresee myself carrying it much, if at all. :(

I'll be writing a note to Gerber about it this afternoon.
In order to be certain of having the right tool for every job.........one must first acquire a lot of tools

NECRO!!!  >:D

I found myself looking at the Strata online the other day to see how it varies from the BG variant that I have .... and then it dawned on me .... I have never seen replacement wire cutters for it  :o :o  I've seen them for the MP600/700/800 but never for the Strata

I obviously don't need any, because I don't have the tool to fasten them to  :D but has anyone ever seen them for sale?

Funny this got bumped today, I decided to carry my Strata this morning.  :)  And no, I haven't seen replacement cutters for it anywhere.
There's no such thing as "Too pretty to carry".  There's only "Too pretty NOT to carry"...... >:D

Only barely related, but I have a Strata plierhead that is homeless as the chassis was broken (both tabs supporting the plierhead snapped) and the tools get used up in various mods.
If anyone is interested in upgrading the BG version to replaceable cutters or wants to salvage the cutters as backup, drop me a PM  - you pay the stamp, I donate the plierhead.
