Fit for purpose?
on: October 19, 2013, 09:59:27 PM
This is kinda a preview to a long term test I'll be starting next week.

The Fit was bought off Amazon, for £20 delivered.

Ordered last Monday it arrived on Friday. My initial thoughts are rather positive. While fit and finish aren't to the highest standards,it has an interesting tool load,I'm liking the drivers, and the torch is better than expected.

It's smaller than I expected,but is,give or take,the size of a large SAK.

As of Tuesday, the Fit will take on the role of my main EDC!
There is no beginning,or ending, and for this we are thankful, cos now is hard enough to understand!

Me too. I'm thinking that the Fit could be a pleasant surprise

My main interest is how the scissors will perform. I've read some mixed things about them here.

That could be the interesting one....my scissor bearing tools tend to get used by others, usually for gift wrapping

For £20 I think the Fit is a good buy, though I am not sure I would want to pay full UK price for one.  I know Al is a fan and, having had a good look at one, I think I like it as well.  My only issue is that I couldn't quite work out where it would fit in my EDC.

I keep looking at the Fit and passing on it.  Looking forward to hearing what your opinions are.  :tu:  You got a Balance partially because of me, now maybe it's time for you to return the favor.....  ;)

I like my Fit despite the fact that the scissors aren't as good as they should be. I added a nebo pocket clip, it's a good companion for a scissor less MT, specially when a light or long bit driver is needed.

I´m also interested in the Fit. It looks nice. But it is far to expensive here for what it appears to be. Around 46-50 £. :o

My Gerber Fit lives in the car along with a Super Bear Jaws. Neither get much use, but both have done the biz when called upon. I am a little wary about the construction of the bit driver, and have thankfully not had to subject it to high torque yet. The spigot and spot weld on the socket look inherrently weak to me, and I can see the driver section shearing off in time (probably when it's desperately needed  ::))

I remember in some thread, the scissors performed very badly.
