These are a unique couple of knives that I had to buy, I spent $41 total for both, (free shipping)

I ordered them from Amazon, and all I had t go off of was one picture of each knive, like so.

My expectations were low, however I think these knives are worth more than $20 each.
*I am not speaking of steel quality, or handle materials, just cool knives with a nice touch of history*

So imagine my surprise when the Amazon box for just these two knives was about 12" x 8" x 2", and sort of heavy.

I was confused and wondered if I had ordered something else and had forgotten

well upon opening the box, I see two of these

Yes each one comes in a nice tin.  :tu:

here is the bottom

opening the cases you see that each one also includes an authentic Civil War era Minie ball

This one has a more intact minie ball, but both are cool. and a nice touch.

These knives each have 6 blades, and each blade contains some info about a general from the US Civil war

I also noticed that there are brass liners and these are just slip-joints, no locks (UK friendly)

For a size comparison, here it is one of them with an Explorer

So I feel this is absolutely amazing for $40.  I will not carry these, these are shelf queens on a hand maiden budget!   :tu:

Well done !  I love the phrasing AND the sentiment expressed !!!!  :tu:  :tu:

Very nice Detron!  :tu:  Bonus Minie balls too, neat!  What generals are on the blades?  Random fact (because I'm a nerd  ;) ) : The tin mentions that 11 states seceded, but a Confederate flag has 13 stars.  The extra two stars were for Missouri and Maryland, which were two Southern states that did not secede, but were definitely Confederate-leaning in their sympathies.

Detron,

Nice knives, and thanks for sharing!  I like knives with history, or stories behind the makers, it gives a personal connection to tool whenever I use one.
Looks like you are on a roll with more traditional American knives?  What got you started in this direction?  :D

Thanks, that is good info.  I am actually from North Carolina, and did not know that fact.

Generals are as follows:

Confederates:
1.  Historical Leader of of the Confederate Army "<-- I guess a title for the knife
2.  Robert E Lee
3.  George Pickett
4.  Stonewall Jackson
5.  Nathan beddforrest
6.  James longstreet

Union:
1.  Historical Leader of of the Union Army "<-- I guess a title for the knife
2.  Ulyssess Grant
3.  Joshua Chamberlain
4.  George Meade
5.  George Armstrong Custer
6.  William Tecumseh Sherman

Here is a picture of the standard models too, one marked RR and one marked Colt (made by the same company but generally better finish and more expensive), for reference.
I do not remember how much they were as I have had them for a few years.
