Where do you keep your precious SAK collection?

Ever since the Swiss Army Craze entered my life a few weeks ago, my desk has become a knife exhibition that grows like a dough in the oven. Where do you guys keep your knives? Do you try to keep them in boxes? Any special conditions you've found to be good for keeping their qualities?

I try to keep them stashed away but they always seem to pile up on my desk anyways. 8 of them as I type this.



Some I keep in their boxes, some in a special box I filled with cut out styrofoam. I need to do some reorganising though.

I keep mine in tool boxes. Much like enki_ck, I also keep a few in their special boxes.

Now that I`ve found suitable perspex display units I keep them on show in my living room
rather than hide them away.

I keep about 50/60 in their original boxes , the rest are in Rubbermade  drawered cabinets

If they came in a box, that's where they stay. They graduated from the multi-tool drawer to the knife collection drawer in my dangerous stuff closet.

I'm not as fancy as most of you guys.

Right now, I have half of them in a small Rubbermaid tote in the basement, and half of them are kicking around my apartment. Either in my nightstand drawer, on my nightstand, on a wall storage shelf. I get pleasure from seeing SAKs around the place wherever I go.

When my daughter's big enough to open them, I'll have to be more careful.

A reappropriated jewelry chest keeps my meager collection organized.

A small collection of all the translucent 58mm's are atop a shadow box soon to be mounted and on display.
But to be honest, not much of a collector.

I only have (1..2..3..4..5..6) 6 of them on my desk. (My SwissTool is a multi-tool, not a SAK, so that doesn't count!)
The rest are in a draw, most in their boxes.
Apart from the one on my keyring in my jacket pocket and the one in a pouch on my belt.

Most of mine are in Infinite Divider trays from the Container Store. Plano makes  similar boxes, less flexible but cheaper. The Classics and other 58mms go into  4x6 compartment divider boxes, also from the Container Store.

All mine except a box full of bucktools are kept in my wardrobe. The sock drawer was quickly filled!
Now they live in plastic storage boxes, shoe boxes, cardboard boxes, carrier bags.....basically anywhere in the wardrobe

Most of my SAKs be in a .50 caliber ammo box in the garage, along with most of the rest of my accumulation. A Recruit is stashed in a small plastic box with my rotation knives, a Classic on the keychain, and a Huntsman in my Camelbak, for hiking.

I was using one, but quickly realized that the smallest bins are still too big.  not to mention there was a lot of sliding when you opened a drawer.

I try and keep as many as I can out of sight..... specially from 'The Wife' 
and if they are spread around, and not in any sort of order, it's not classed as 'A Collection' right
