I got this knife from cdv1962, who apparently found it at an auction (http://forum.multitool.org/general-tool-discussion/i-got-it-i-got-it!-what-is-it/). I really liked the look of it, and he kindly offered to sell it to me :)

As you can see in the pics, it's pretty much the same size as an Opinel No. 8, which is quite a nice size, for me  :tu: . I absolutely love the look of the olive wood handles. Other comparisons: I think this is a bit more refined than the Opi, with the knurling on the locking ring mainly, it's just a lot more supple than the well known French knife. The ring turns a bit easier on the Marietti, and the blade opens easier, too.
I think the Marietti is slightly lighter even than the Opinel. The balance could be better, the handle weighs almost nothing, while the blade is actually quite heavy... Besides that, I really like it  :tu:

Some more thoughts:

- The blade is really badly centered, hitting the handle when it folds in. That's a bit of a disappointment really...
- It could have been sharper, though this is a used one, so I'm not gonna complain about that.
- I'm still really liking how it looks  :D
- Even though it might not be the best balanced knife ever, I think it still cuts pretty nicely :)

It's in far better shapše than I thought it would be from the original thread pics. :tu: Looks really cool and thanks for the size comparison to the #8 Opinel.

Looks like it found a good home. ;)

It is, yes. I really like the size and shape of the whole knife, I actually think I like it better than my Opinels.... And, I always have loved the look of olive wood :)

I usually am not a hard user of my knives and tools at all, but I'm sure this knife will get carried a lot :)  :tu:

Knife stats:

Looks really great! Work a little on it, correct some defaults and it will be a great EDC piece.
