Each month we try to come up with something interesting to give away. I'll admit, some months were more interesting than others, and some months were more useful than others. This month's prize may not be that useful, but it is an interesting piece for the collectors out there!

Yup, that's it, the
Schrade Navitool- the one tool you probably don't want with you when you get lost!

This one isn't new, but I believe is pretty close to it, although I have been informed that there is a small ding in the blade.

It looks to me like someone tried to use this unit for guidance in a survival situation and ended up having to hack their way out of the washroom.

Otherwise it is in great shape (I haven't seen it myself, but these are photos from the agent who is monitoring it's status in a secret location!) and so it should be of interest to anyone who has a fascination with the old, the odd and/or some of the great failures of the multitool world.

For those not familiar with this tool, it was made back before Schrade went out of business and was subsequently picked up by the Masters of Evi... uh.... I mean Taylor Cutlery, however that was no guarantee of quality. Schrade wasn't doing so good at the time and they tried a few radical designs such as this one (in fact, several models of the Navitool were produced) although they really didn't help the decline.
In addition to the usual can opener, screwdrivers, saw, scissors and knife blade the Navitool also features such important survival equipment as a signal mirror, compass, lighter and.... a corkscrew. You can read more about it
in the Multitool.org Encyclopedia
The rules to win this are simple- Use the Donation option in the menu at the top, use the big orange button on the right or follow the link below to donate to the operational costs of the forum.
Any donations over $10 will get you a chance to win. Twenty dollars will get you two entries, thirty dollars will get you three entries and so on. If we don't reach our monthly goal of $275 then we will lock this away and save it for some other event to give away. Since this is a non locking blade that could not possibly be opened one handed, it should be open for anyone to win without fear of reprisal from the local lawmakers. I will choose a winner at random using some bizarre method and announce the winner here. The winner
must contact me with an address within 30 days of being announced or the prize will go back into the Multitool.org Vault to be given away in some other event.
To add some extra excitement, if we reach our goal by midnight on November 15th (Forum Offset Time of course) I will choose an Early Bird Draw. Winning the Early Bird draw
does not disqualify you from the main draw, so it's always worth it to get involved!.
Here's one more photo of the scissors, just to keep you from getting bored with all of the above wordy stuff.

I'd also like to extend a HUGE thank you to the unnamed member who went to the effort of securing this prize for us.
That should be about it. Any questions?
