If you could only have one MT, what would it be?

I have most Leatherman models, a Vic Swisstool & Spirit, plus a couple of SOG's and Gerbers. If I could only have one MT it would be have to be a Wave. Next in line would be a PST ll.

What would be your pick?

Micra, I think.

It's just the tool I'd actually need most often.

If we're talking non-Leatherman, then pretty close to the same answer, SOG Crosscut.

Non leatherman, the Swiss tool gets my vote.
Leatherman only, I would go with the wave.

Boy that's a hard one!  If I could only have one, be it a LM, Vic, or anything else, I guess it'd be my Surge.  The thing's built like a tank and has pretty much everything I need.

Probably a Spirit or maybe a ALX like Wave with Vic 91mm scissors.

if i could have only one MT, i will go for a military MP600 with the wire cutters (Black Oxide)

if i could only have 1 LM MT, it will be the Leatherman Surge in Black Oxide

It would be the Wave for me.

The problem is you lot have corrupted me. I was quite happy with my Wave but recently I've been liking having a Rebar, Farmer and folder with me. It feels lighter and it gets spread out more so it's less noticeable. The Rebar's more comfortable to use than the Wave as pliers, the folding knife is more comfortable to use than the Wave's and the Farmer has that fantastic awl. But it means I'm carrying multiple things which I hate.

If I could have only one tool, I would pick the Victorinox Spirit plus (the one with the butterknife, and the small ratchet/bits).

Or is the ratchet considered as a second tool ... ?  :think:

Very tough choice, however, it will be a sad day if it ever comes to that.  ;) It would be similar to choosing a favorite child.

Charge Ti for me with a bit kit, second in line will be a PST II with a straight blade.

I'm with Pete on this one. If I could only have one, it would probably be my Charge Ti with bit kit. That's the one I go to most often.

If you don't mind me asking, Why that style blade ? Is that model harder to come by ?

For my purposes,I would have to say the Rebar.
It offers a good selection of my most used, good sized tools
in a package, light enough for me to carry in my pocket
on a Lanyard,without feeling like I,m carrying a heavy weight.

Like many of us here, I've been corrupted by this place >:D  I don't know if I could handle only carrying one, but I know I would get by just fine as I don't use anything heavily.  Right now I would have to say (and I know this probably wouldn't be the popular choice) the Wingman.  This is more the minimalist approach as it has all I really would need and then some honestly.  If I want to take the maximum MT approach, it would likely be one of either the Rebar, Spirit or Charge TTi.

My Spirit X. Especially if I can keep the bit kit, but either way it would be my first and only choice. Hell, it's the only multi I've carried for a year now as it is, and I have had zero desire to buy anything else since getting it.

I believe this was the first type of Spirit that came out, and the Spirit X (with "normal" knife) came later.  I own 3 Spirits with the butter-knife, and two with the normal knife, and I use one of the "butter-knife" versions for my edc. 

At first I had my doubts about this knife, but now that I carry it every day, I've really started to like it, in my view it has no downside compared to the knife on the Spirit X,  it still has a usable point, it has a nice serrated part, and thanks to the fact that the plain edge part of the blade is not on the point, like with other half serrated knives, but on the other side, it can still be used for "finer" work, and it looks even less threatening than the knife on the Spirit X, even though it looks and feels a bit beefier than the X version.

Oh my, this is a tough one. It would be between my SwissTool and my MUT. If you can carry a SAK, then I'd choose the MUT. If not, then the SwissTool.
