Warning - Very bad online seller
on: December 24, 2013, 02:31:07 AM
Hi everyone

I've been asked to post a warning against using an online shop based in France

http://www.le-couteau-suisse.com

I found the shop quite by chance whilst searching for the Wenger 505 Hunter.
That initial purchase went fairly smoothly. The knife arrived about a week after it was ordered.

I then decided to take out a overdraft with my bank to enable me to buy Wenger SAKs before they disappeared.

Over the course of several days numerous purchases were made (mainly the Ranger series).

However, my bank refused to honour some of the transactions (don't ask me why). So the items were re-ordered again. Again the bank blocked the transactions??
On the 3rd attempt  it went through. But by which time the seller had emailed me stating that 2 of the items were no longer available. Even though the website listed all as "in stock"
I replied asking for a revised update stating the new transaction paid out and the refund amount... No answer. I asked again several times, still no answer.

So I asked for confirmation of which items had actually cleared payment and which hadn't  - I intended to purchase those elsewhere. Again no answer nor did he reply to all subsequent emails regarding my orders.

I have tried hard to be both polite and easy going. Being grateful that hopefully I could get the Wenger's I was after. However, as time passes, it now seems that this seller has no intention whatsoever of honouring my orders - indeed yesterday I emailed him asking for tracking details of the items I bought and paid for on the 2nd!! ...no answer!!

I think the managers name is Benjamin.
Heed my advice, stay away!!

I've now got the unenviable task of trying to either get my order or get my money back.
What a complete and utter waste of time.

Just looked up their address on google maps and it is a residential area.
If you find yourself in a fair fight, your tactics suck.

That doesn't surprise me one bit.
But then to be fair, what did I honestly expect when dealing with a online seller. I bet most are faceless.

UPDATE:

A package arrived today totally unannounced despite  my repeated requests for updates, tracking numbers etc etc.  There are still items that have not yet arrived.

Also received an email from the seller responding to my email to him last night. In which I stated that I had mentioned my experiances with him here on the forum, that in turn prompted other members to come forward who had also dealt with him and been left very dissatisfied.

His reply email was the usual fare....
He'd been busy and not able to respond. Also he would not accept threats of any kind.

I think that last part was referring to my mentioning that if I didn't hear from him within 24hrs I would contact my bank and report the sale as theft by deception.

I'll never deal with him again. That's my choice

If any of you want to deal with him, then that's fair enough.
But for me " Once Bitten........"
I don't claim to know it all, but what I do know is right.

UPDATE:

Following my scathing attack on this online seller. I sent an email detailing that I had posted my own feedback upon this forum to warn any future potential customers after my own horrendous experiance of dealing with him.

After several days, I'd managed to calm down a little, knowing that in all probability I would get my money back from VISA if I could prove my case. I decided to contact the seller again after posting a link to his shop in the swiss section (horizontal pouch). I actually ordered the pouch first and then contacted the seller to say the transaction would be watched by many of the members on here.

That was sunday 5th January. Today the 8th January a parcel arrived from France. Inside were the pouch and the remainder of my order.

Its my opinion that the seller has realised the negative impact that could result from a single forum member having a bad experiance and has sought to rectify what could quite possibly have been catastrophic in terms of conducting online sales.

Such has my confidence grown I have ordered 2 more items, which I now believe will arrive shortly.

Personally I am now quite happy to recommend :

The power of the forum...

I'll keep that in mind in case I would run into trouble along similar lines.    :)

I'm glad you got what all you ordered, and it's very righteous of you to be so fair :salute:

Still, don't think this is somewhere I'll ever be ordering from
There is no beginning,or ending, and for this we are thankful, cos now is hard enough to understand!
