Any opinions on Tissot watches?
on: December 24, 2013, 06:06:57 PM
Hey guys 'n' gals.

I've been meaning to get me a dress watch for those occasions so I did some search and with a little help from the wife I think I'm going to buy this one :

http://www.tissot.ch/?collections/products/408/n/TISSOT_HERITAGE_VISODATE_AUTOMATIC/T019.430.16.031.01

I like it very much, I tried it and it sits on my wrist very well. The price is OK too  at 400€, I'm not going much higher than that if I'm ever going to wear it !

I like the idea of an automatic watch but I'm clueless about these things (amongst many others  :D). My question is, is Tissot a good maker? Should I look for something else?

Any help is much appreciated. Thanks.

Tissot is a good maker that's been around for quite a while.  They're owned by the Swatch AG group so expect ETA movements in their mechanical watches.

Thanks for the replies guys. It does look like a good first fancy watch -probably one of the very few I'll ever try to own, so expect some eye candy soon  ;)

I've been wearing the same T-touch and only changed the battery once. 12 years and it takes a licking.

Their steel band and clasp is the best I've ever used.

Thanks ! That's good to hear.

I must say I think that silent alarm feature is a very clever thing.

I think I'm convinced, I liked the thing right from the start.
