I believe I'm beginning to feel some of the same ways that you do about Victorinox. There just doesn't seem to be any consistency with their Alox production methods. For the majority, it's strictly on a first come first served basis with not a whole lot of heads-up time to get ready. Gotta be quick on the draw with the colored Alox (whether limited or not).
