Any thought on size or what you will be using it for?

Any preference on pocketclip positioning or tip up/tip down carry?

Locking or not?

One hand opening or not?

There are lots of models around and info like that could help us narrow it down.

For now, I'll add the CRKT Drifter to the list. Great bang for the buck.

Maybe some of the KaBar Dozier folders but I don't have personal experience with those.

Lots of good chineese made knifes to choose from. Like this Enlan Bee L05 for $12 shipped.

Or any knife made by SRM.

The Sog Mini-Fielder is a good knife that can be grabbed for less than 20 bucks, last time I was at Bass Pro at least. I have the regular sized one and its been a very good tool, edge retention is not stellar but that is to be expected  at the price point. Solid lock up and a very solid feel to the knife as a whole. It isn't the lightest knife on the market but I think it looks great and it can take a beating.

Grathr made a good point, the more well known Chinese manufacturers(Enlan/SRM) do offer a pretty good deals at <20 USD.  Do a quick search on bladeforum, and you probably will find plenty of reviews.

I haven't owed one, but do hear a lot of good reviews about the Byrd knives made by Spyderco.  Even though they are made oversea, but Spyderco QC should be proved to be reliable.

Last but by no mean least, Victorinox does offer a few good and well known products at that range, Recruit/Tinker are both very popular models, and Vic fit/finish/QC has always been top notched and their products do have pretty high rust resistance which is perfect for EDC pocket carry.
