Asking for a few prayers for a friend,,

Last night my wife got a text from her friends boyfriend, come to find out she went into the hospital, she was having major headaches, and started slurring! Well as the ambulance picked her up the took her sugar level to find it over 500! Well after bringing her in to the icu they found out that they had to do brain surgery, and relieve the blood pressure.. After that they had to keep her under comma for the night.. And after a few tests they also found out that her kidneys are shutting down.. Just A little while ago they took her off and she started breathing on her own but is not completely responsive so we're waiting.. So if I'm not all here, know you know why..  Thanks,  JR

That's terrible news. I truly wish her the best and hope things start taking a turn for the better. It's really scary when thing of this magnitude happen at all, but especially when it's out of the blue like this. I send my best and will be thinking about her. Sending my thoughts her way.  :salute: 


Im sure you will, but just make sure to be there for your wife and your wife's friends boyfriend.

Sustained blood sugar of that level is very bad for your body.  Even at half that, you'd still feel crappy.  Hope things get much better for her!

Last piece of info we got is she had a stroke and her kidneys are looking better. Another friend of ours is on there way over and will get us some more info.. JR

Well she's awake, and very vocal! We haven't been able to get a hold of her cause she's still in the icu, but they said she might be moved To a normal room or even discharged by Wednesday, so well see, she's going to need some work, she did have a stroke and her kidneys shut down but they seem to be doing better, so I guess all in do time,, JR

Glad to hear that she's coming around!  Do they know why her sugar was so high though?  Being diabetic, whenever I hear people having dangerously high sugars like that, it always concerns me.

Well not such good news, they were going to take her out of the icu, but, it hurts for here to swallow so she needs a feeding tube, and on top of that she has pneumonia, so she's still in the icu. And they think she's going to end up needing 24/7 care.. JR
