Bought a couple of these off eBay, crap handle but the blade is pretty nice. Shaving sharp and likely to stay that way unless I abuse it.
Planning to pull one apart and make up a nicer handle, something like an Opinel garden knife.

You can't really go wrong at 2 for $13.50 incl post

I bought a set of kitchen knives with similar blades. I made the mistake of looking at it askew one fine morning, and the blade broke. Seriously, and I had never abused them...it just took a light tap at the wrong angle and a broken blade. I hope you have better luck with these.
A little Leatherman information.

I do realise they can be fragile. I have a ceramic blade paring knife in my kitchen drawer and it came with a list of "DON'T DO"s. like cutting frozen foods, twisting or prying, using as a chopper or icepick, hitting with anything etc etc.

I did a small test on a Semptec Ceramic Knive. Meanwhile ,I have used it to cut open a beer bottle (used it to cut through the neck, just because), so the blade is ruined :D
I also own a ceramic kitchen knife. I do most of those things with my kitchen knife PTRSAK mentions as No Go (no, I never read instructions). As long as you don't hit a metal edge your fine (I once slammed my previous ceramic kitchen knife on a frying pan, it chipped quite badly). Its now more than a year in my possession and still as fresh as a daisy. So I would say ceramic knives are far more durable than they are given credit. Probably because there are too many products out there of minor quality.

Also when using a ceramic knife I feel like a Fremen Warrior :P

...

Do you mean you whacked the blade against the lip so the glass broke at the neck?  I'm not sure I understand what you're saying.

Don't ever try to make them sharper (unless you are kwakster with all those fancy sharpening stuff).

I bought one of those boker ceramic folders, it would cut but wasn't particularly sharp. I tried to sharpen it with diamond stone, BIG MISTAKE, now I have a rust proof titanium handled folding butter knife.  ::)

Nope, I used the edge to cut through the class with sawing motion. It works though the blade looks rough (I will try to make a picture tonight).
