Aussie brands?

Are there any Australian knife brands out there?

Seems the US & UK have all sorts of interesting knives, and some from smaller countries. Only thing I seen from the other side of the globe was the Svord from New Zealand - nothing from Australia. Sure there are some??  ???  Yes, No, maybe??

No doubt there are knife makers & smiths. But... hasn't Australia ever had their own brand of knives made and sold in their country, or have they always relied more on imports?

US has many brands, more than one can shake a stick at. Swiss and those across the great pond have theirs too. Australia is as big as the US, but in all their time of evolution hadn't they ever made/sold their own?

In size we are just as big, but we only have less than 1/10th of the population.

I thought that someone from the AKG might be more knowledgeable on the subject.
Maybe there was a company or two on the past but likely to have been based in the southern states.

Hmm... thought Australia had at least 40% with the rest being the indigenous Aboriginal tribes in the desert regions.

  Thanks fellas!
