Today's quite average, so lets count...

Vic Spartan - 2
LM Pulse - 1
LM Micra - 1
SRM 710 - 1

That's it I think, and pretty average... Unless I'm in sweatpants, then it won't be more than 2, usually.

2 + 2 = 4
2 MiniChamp's (always) + 2 vic's blades (Champ, Ranger ...) = 4 = most of the time
 :climber:
2 (MiniChamp) + 1 (Compact, Sportsman ...) = 3 = sometimes

I see that I am over the top. That's OK since I don't have many SAKs and MTs. Having many with me makes me suitable for MTO I hope.
I like my tools and since Monday to Friday I stay at home just for 10 hours a day and I sleep 7-8 of them, I have to keep  my tools with me to play. Carrying a big (Victorinox) bag helps a lot. And the Skinth CatchAll was the reasonable choice for me.
I once met a SAK lover in a local store. We were talking about SAKs and he kept taking out of his bag one SAK after the other, Swisstools also. Our wives were  bored to death.

Usually 2 these days:
  • Classic on key ring
  • SAK - Which these days seems to be a Wenger or Vic Compact
So not the standard 2 blades in a Vic Officer SAK - which always seemed a duplication for me anyway!!

Multitool is usually not EDC'd - I have an office job - So no blades on my person due to that.
Got one in the car and another in the house (to save trips to tool box in garage/shed) and it comes camping etc with me.

Two really should be the max you need ...... He says provocatively  :)
kkokkolis and others please note!!

Four blades when I'm not at work, five when I've got my tool pouch on.  Never thought about it till I looked at this post. Compared to some here I'm walking around naked with the amount blades you guys pack.

At work / out: 4-5 depending on which LM I'm carrying.

  • 2 on my Wave (pocket)
  • 1 on my Gerber Shortcut (edc bag)
  • 2 on my Cybertool (edc bag)

At home I always have a Leatherman in my pants pocket so 1-2.

I only use one routinely though :s but the other tools aren't there for the knife blades.

That's a nice looking folder :tu:.

Is it a SOG Vulcan? I can make out the SOG logo, but can't identify which model it is.

Tuff call, depends on what the day is and what's going on, always a minimal of two, keychain and (pocket or sheath), but what else is there,
One in the pocket organizer, skeletool freestyle, wait no two, there's one on the skeletool style scissors too
Two more in the backpack, a skeletool and sak
So a minimal of two, or total of six depending on what's getting carried, and I only marked five oops! JR

While some of SOGs multi might be a little clunky, there knivies on the other hand, are not. They do make some lower ends one for budget like the Flashes, and there not junk. The fit and finish on the Vulcan is topself. It is one of there higher end knivies.

The Vulcan looks quite robust and perhaps can take on heavier tasks than usual

6, one on a SAK, one on a MT, one on a keychain MT, one on a folder, one on a Swisscard, and two on a Patriot.

Wait, the Patriot has 2 blades, so that makes seven.

When I'm running around town 1-2 on my multi and 1 folder. As for work 1 on a Style CS and 1-2 on whatever I feel like carrying as a multi.

I was going through last night working out what knives I carried and thought wow I carry 3x Leatherman and 3x Folders on me with a 4th set in my car. Does this make me Parnoid or just good management?

Main Knives - LM Surge & Ontario Rat M2

Back up knives - LM Sidekick & Boker Magnum

And I have only in the last month or so got into my Key-Chain EDC - Cold Steel Micro Recon 1 and Leatherman Squirt PS4, this has now been my main EDC weekend carry with a TEC P-7 Suspension Clip, TEC Centipede, TEC Pico Pen, LM Brewzer, Car and House Keys

And in my car I also have a LM Rebar and BG Gerber Scout.

One in the Skeletool, One in the Style CS.  With the Skeletool I just don't feel the need to carry a separate folder.
My EDC:
Leatherman Skeletool   Led Lenser P3 AFS P
Leatherman Style CS    "Fauxton"
Sharpie Twin Tip           Bic Mini

I realised I am carrying 3: Climber in pocket + Classic on keyring.  :ahhh

I am amazed how many seperate knives some people carry on an EDC base. At most I would have with me a fixed knive, a plier-based multitool, a SAK(91 or 111) and a classic on the keys.

It's typically 4 for me.  Now that I counted, it seems like a lot of blades for only a little use, but oh well ;)  There's 2 on my SAK and 2 on my MT for most of my pairings.

My question to the others, do you carry those items in your pocket, or are they in bags, cars, etc?

This is a tricky question for me. I want to say 3 as of recently, one on my 91mm (Watchman), another on my 58mm (Tutor), and a defensive knife. Proper locking folder or something like this.
(Image removed from quote.)

But if I count whats in my backpack, car, etc...
Were literally talking 40 or more, so that's why I asked bags, car, etc...

Interesting rig. What is it if you don't mind. tom.

ETA , I voted two. One SAK and one Spyderco. tom.

Clearly I have been on this site too often..

On my person:

1. Gerber EAB as money clip; and my job requires frequent use of a replaceable razor type blade anyway.

2. Vic Sentinel OHO clip. I am literally never without it unless I am having sex or showering. Or having sex in the shower. During these times it is close by.

In my EDC bag:

3 and 4. Leatherman Rebar. PE and SE blades.

5. Mora of some kind. Lately a Bushcraft Black, sometimes a Companion. I like to have a fixed blade in there.

6. A SAK. Lately a Compact or my Syph custom alox. On occasion my old Explorer, which would make seven blades.

Ouch.

Thing is, I don't feel like I have any unecessary redundancy here save for LM MT and SAK PE blades.

-daily use folding locking pocket knife
-replaceable rough use razor knife
-Typical pliers MT Leatherman
-SAK
-fixed blade

-shrug-
