What to put in Sheath?
on: June 03, 2008, 04:09:08 AM
I never really thought about it  or rather never had a sheath with extra pockets .  So whats does one put in those pockets?  ??? I know that there are accessories for the Leathermans but are there any other sheaths of other brands that have pockets. Just curious as what I should put in my new Wave Sheath?  Any input from anyone please.  I like small survival stuff so any ideas in that direction as well :D

Buy the bit kit and customize a card, put a small flashlight in there, and put a pen or something in there!

Poncho, you should watch thttp://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=8892434763084507727&q=leatherman%20charge%20tti&hl=en video. Dano has a lot of items that would be useful in a survival situation in his nylon sheath.

the wave rides in my pocket and the sheath contains the bit kit, bit extender. swiss ratchet and wrench with bits. I have 53 bits in their total. I think it will handle about anything. also a few blades tucked away for teh sured in there.

Here's another, more modern idea- a flash drive with important personal documents on it.  You can use the extra space for actual flash drive uses, but if you keep personal info on it, it will help authorities identify you and contact family if you are in an accident.

That's another idea I've not thought of, I have heard about using flashdrive for that purpose but never thought about sheath carry :D Thanks Def

A fenix LOD-CE flashlight. Fits perfect in the leather sheath that came with the wave.

Man there's alot more out there to carry in a sheath than I have thought about. I just usually don't think outside the box enough on certain things
