OK,

thanks to seeing what I considered a fair price for a Leatherman Mini-Tool on the bay,  I snatched it up, and must admit,  this tool is freaking awesome!
it is very therapeutic to just play with this MT, and as a set of pliers, I think it is great, and you still have other functions that can be handy.
the mere ability to make a set of pliers fold away to this small size alone would make this a great item, but it does more!

**my new MT & SAK combo carry is now going to be:
Normal Skinth load out (Charge TTi, bit kit and extender)  with a smaller SAK (4 layers or so)
                  or
Large SAK (Champ, CT41, etc) and the Mini-Tool!

***

OK, back on track,  this tool is amazing!  it is so compact, and yet watching it transform into a set of pliers that is basically 3 times the size of the closed tool reminds me of when I got my first transformer in the early 80's,  Optimus Prime was amazing and my mind was engaged in the engineering of such an items ability to convert or transform.

OK  my Mini is a Patent Pending model!

anybody know what the small hole in the middle of the plier joint is?

the knife is SUPER dull, but does not appear mistreated at all

the file is in great shape

though it did not come with an official sheath,  this sheath is awesome,  barley bigger than the tool, and becomes nearly invisable on my belt

so I took my Mini to a place i had never been, Cabela's!

(class I was taking for work was 15 minutes from a Cabela's)

I paid $34.50 plus $2.75 shipping, so I am thrilled with what I got for that price (Buy it now! listing)

If I can help, let me know

Congrats on the mini, I picked one off flea bay last week. Awesome little tool. I pair mine also with a CT 41 or a Swiss champ.

Glad to see you are getting a taste for LMs again.  The mini is a great little tool and I believe the hole is for a lanyard .  Good price on the mini as well and nice paring with the CT41.

That's what I thought. That a mini would add to a big SAK (my XLT for example) the only thing it lacks. There was one on classifieds here recently but I thought that since I have now 5 plier based tools I wouldn't resist carrying one of those any given day. But still, this saves a lot of space.

The Mini is a seriously underrated tool! As you say, teamed up with a SAK,it makes a great, competent, light EDC .

I was well surprised last year when I'd carried mine through the Fit test  :D
There is no beginning,or ending, and for this we are thankful, cos now is hard enough to understand!

Unsure of which "hole" you are talking about.
There's an offset lanyard hole on a pivot, there's also what appears to be a center punched mark in the center of the plier joint pivot. That's usually there because someone tightened the plier joint a little.

As stated, the hole in the joint is from someone trying to tighten the pliers from being too loose.

If I didn't have two Mini Tool's already, I would have bought that exact one when that seller posted it. Instead I got a Pulse from the same seller to add to my collection. Too bad both Mini Tool's I got didn't come with a sheath.

I love the mini!  I have a NIB one that Ive been keeping pristine, but I really want to get a user.  Great matchup with a SAK for sure.

Congrats, Detron.

Yes, that's one I wish they'd make again, doesn't even have to have any other tools. Just the pliers in this compact form would be great. :tu:

That was my plan as well, I bought a NIB one. Loved it. Then got another one just in case something happened, but bow Gerd got me wanting to DLC it. :ahhh

Pat Pending is a great designer- you see his name on all the coolest stuff!

Congratulations on getting a Mini.  I really don't see them as being that great a tool for using, but they certainly are My Preciousssssss when it comes to the collection!  :D

Now you have to find a black one....  :pok:

This thread had me hunting for another mini to actually use and carry.  Just scored a good shape used one on ebay.  So my new summer EDC will be a SAK and a Mini! :D

I think they are a great compliment for a SAK!

Yes, best LM to partner with a CT :tu:

Great design and I second the motion for a LM Mini 2.0. I carried the PS4 with my SAK but those pliers are not even close to the one from the Mini. The compactness is awesome
The Mini is awesome, Multitools are awesome, everything is Awesome, Lego is awesome (sorry just watched the Lego Movie)

I really enjoy my mini that i got it off ebay with original case as well.  It's great for those times where you want a 'full sized' pliers MT but don't want the weight of the full size options.  I recommend finding an original case if you can, it really completes the package.

What I've been doing is hanging the cased mini on the inside of my belt (so it sits between belt and pants) instead of on the out side of the belt...it practically disappears in this position while I could feel it bumping stuff when it was on the outside of my belt.  It does make it a little harder to get the tool back into the case after using it but to me it's worth not having that oh you've got a strange bump out under your shirt cause there's a case on your belt feeling...

now a LM mini 2.0 would be AWESOME   I don't need jewelry leatherman!  Make a revised mini with added features, maybe even a knifeless model for those of us who'd trade that space for a different tool and for a travel friendly design
