Just noticed this Backpacker has tweezers but no slot for the toothpick.   8)
That's interesting!  Wonder why they'd do that??

Wenger produced knives with T&T-less scales. Maybe a scale got damaged, and that's all the knife's previous owner had to replace it with??

The model shown by SAK Guy has the correct configuration.
Wenger had some models which featured only the tweezers and no toothpic.
For example the "Seafarer" or some models with the diamond sharpener for the more recent ones.
And also older models (with older configurations) like Adirondack, Sierra and many others

My new Wenger mod - to alternate with the SwissChamp.  :D

It is a very cool mod.
The only thing that I don't like is the use of that ugly plastic Victorinox magnifier, but this is just my personal taste.

Off topic,

I think its sad that Wenger does not produce knifes any more.
After 100 years of producing knifes. Somethings should just go on for ever. Wenger is one of them.
Just like the chinese company kongo gumi, established in 578 to build temples in china. Went bankrupt in 2006.
Sad
After 1500 years. What company can say it was established in 578.
It was the oldest company in the world.

Hope someone learned form this

Yes, it is a Torx T-10 that I sourced from a 3-layer Wenger Computer Wiz that I decided to merge (along with its wrench and back layer phillips) into the modified Wenger I made.  :D

The only thing that I don't like is the use of that ugly plastic Victorinox magnifier, but this is just my personal taste.

Thanks! I understand the aesthetics of the Victorinox magnifier are not that great, but the darn tool is very useful to me (and I suspect for anybody over the age of 45 to 50), particularly in my job as a research horticulturist.

Anyone any ideas about this one? It looks like it should be so simple to name, but I can't find it on the 3 layer Wenger section on SAKwiki.

Maybe, but don't the Security Wengers lock? I would say more likely variation 2 - the European version?

From SAK Wiki - The european version (1.13.51) has standard red scales, small key chain and a plain blade.

It's not clear though, for such a simple configuration.

I reckon Classic 08 as I can't see T&T in the pics.  :salute:
