I've been collecting these knives for about ten years and have been fortunate enough to accumulate about thirty.

Here is a pic of four that were recently photographed.

There is a four year wait to receive one after your order is placed.

A dream of mine has always been to own a Model 17.  Never had the budget or the patience.

Are you using any of them or are they all purely collectors pieces?

I've used only one so far. It's not in any of the pics. It's a model 8-4" with 01 tool steel blade and stag handle.

I used to carry the #8 on the strap of an Old Skool U.S. tankers holster . Made mag changes feel a lot more comfortable . Worked well , both under and over the smock .

K.O.T. , but I loved the old tanker's holsters - would hold the K frame , N frame , Colt 1911 , and P35 Hi Power .

Gary Powers carried a Randall 8 when he was shot down over Russia, while flying the U-2 spy plane in 1960.That knife and his other survival equipment resides in a museum in Russia.

He also had a SAK , and a suppressed .22 pistol . I suspect his employers/superiors expected him to shoot himself before capture . On the flip side , he could have been heavily miss briefed with disinformation .

Astronaut Gordon Cooper helped design the Randall Model 14.  I'd love to get my hands on a Randall one of these days.....

I believe that knife may have been the Model 17 Astro. That knife was taken on the Apollo manned space flights.

Yep that's the one.  I was even going to put Astro in my reply.  That's what I get for posting while paying more attention to hockey than what I'm typing....
