Mp600 vs og wave
on: May 18, 2014, 09:02:49 PM
I compare all full sized mt's too the og wave, for me one of the best alround mts made, the og wave is slimmer than the 04 wave but no locking inside tools.I recently got a blunt nosed bo mp600 from kirky,im actually impressed with this tank like mt,kirky liked it to a AK47 and i can see why, many on here say how good the mp600 is and now i see why,i cant stop flicking the pliers out  :ahhh all the tools seem useable ,im going too order the bit kit for it,it lives in my mini organizer in my backpack  :tu:

a strange fish the MP600, but I've fallen for one too, purely by accident  :multi:
it's the best/only multitool I've had access to that really works in 'hammer mode' (I can't justify the price of a LM mutt)

Hammer mode Michael? You going all hip hop on us? :ahhh :ahhh

Paul, thing to look for is the LM bit driver kit for the Kick/Fuse. It's a super fit on the stubby Phillips, far better than on the LM tools!
There is no beginning,or ending, and for this we are thankful, cos now is hard enough to understand!

How much does the MP600 weigh?  I'm curious about it and the MP400, mainly for the flicky pliers that many rave about ;)

Not sure about weight but the flicky pliers are addictive  :ahhh I've seen a Gerber bit kit for £8.99 but if I can get a LM one in no cheaper I'll go for it  :salute: I can see this good as a hammer Michael  :D

One of the contractors we see at work has an MP600 that is scuffed and dented like you wouldn't believe from being used often as a hammer.  :ahhh  Sucker still works with no problems though.  The comparison to a Kalashnikov is pretty appropriate.  A bit crude-looking and feeling, rattly, and utterly reliable.  :tu:

I believe all warranty work is dealt with by Gerber's UK distributor, Silva UK Ltd.

The MP600 is built like a brick smurf-house! Granted, I have not used mine as a hammer, but the handles are so thick I can see how it might work as one...

I've got a Black mp600 blunt nose. Was happy with it, however, I think that the replaceable carbide cutters are too hard bordering on brittle. Tried to cut a coat hanger sized piece of mild steel and one side completely shattered.  If you use them as cutters regular, I can see you spending the price of a new tool on replacement cutters in no time at all.  I'd like to get the older model without the replaceable cutters.

+1 for the good old 'blunt nose' (I forgot to mention mine was ! and I think it's part of what sets it apart from my 'other' multis)
