Hello all!
on: May 25, 2014, 03:09:43 AM
Thought I'd introduce myself, so hello everyone!

I hail from New Zealand, just picked up my first MT, so I thought I'd stop lurking and join the forum.

Might as well take the time to show off my favourite knife as well!  :D

Leatherman Wave - don't know enough about the Waves to tell if its a pre 2004 or New Wave, but will be checking it out as soon as I get it looking good. (Picked it up for free off Airport security, so a bit of wear and tear to repair). - Edit - Definitely a 2004 model Wave.

As to the fixed knife, it sure is well loved. Sturdy, reliable, and sharp as anything!

I'll have to disappoint you as to where you can get it/what it is though. Its a handmade knife, starting with a steel bar over a coke fire.

Not too sure actually,

Believe switch-blades are illegal to carry in public, but as long as you've got a good reason you can carry anything else.

Personally, I'd feel confident carrying anything (apart from a switch-blade) as long as I was doing so discreetly and safely. If I was tramping or obviously camping, I'd feel confident carrying a knife of any size, carried however I wanted.

If I was just walking on the street, I'd make sure I wasn't carrying anything like a machete.

Makes sense. Thanks.
