Carbon fibre ClimberThe scales are different thicknesses - the corkscrew side is twice the thickness of the shield scale and has both toothpick and tweezer slots to keep the thickness down. It's not perfect - the carbon delaminated a bit while drilling and I've over peened it a bit so it's a little tight. I'll probably take it apart and make some brass washers to replace the shield side liner anyway, so I'll get the compression right then. As a first prototype it's ok.
Looks darn good to me!
Looks good.
After I saw Syph's work on the 84mm scissors, I had to try this as well. (Image removed from quote.)Really nice!

The screw in the set I had were so loose the scissors wouldnt even cut, so I didnt have much to lose and was very happy with the upgrade.

Guess this would also work with a bunch of 58mm scissors I have with screw pivots
I do not understand what is going on here. Why are you replacing the pivot?
Quote from: HarleyXJGuy on December 17, 2014, 06:58:46 AMI do not understand what is going on here. Why are you replacing the pivot?84mm scissors all feature a screwed down construction. Sometimes the screw loosens itself after every cut. I even tried Loctite, but it didn't help.
In the past I have tightened the pivot screw by centrepunching the back side of it. Or lightly peening.
