Duck tape to the rescue!
on: June 15, 2008, 05:28:30 PM
I the spirit of self reliance and common sense I have just modded SWMBOS crutches .My darling wife recently broke her ankle and was issued with the bog standard NHS crutches which have hard plastic handles designed to cut into softer hands. So with some left over pipe lagging and Ducktape the proper stuff not the cheap imitation I no longer have to listen to SWMBO moaning about sore hands as the DT hold it solid as a rock
Thank You
Ducktape

My condolences to Mrs Jock- broken ankles are nothing to sneeze at.  I hope it's not too bad for her.  Half the agony of a broken ankle is the crutches!

Good on you for going to the effort to make it a little easier on her!

Good luck to her.  I broke my ankle in early March and was on crutches for 7 weeks.  I hope her healing goes as well as mine did, I'm nearly 100% now.

It was frustrating to deal with, but my wife really helped out.  Try your best to do the same for her.

I can't believe I missed this. Yes ducktape is an amazing thing. And yes broken ankles suck. BTDT but I hope she heals up fast.

I'm not a shiny ducktape kinda guy. I want my ducktape to look worn, because my ducktape REALLY holds my wallet together, it's not a fashion accessory.
