Nope, but now that you mention it, I haven't noticed them around either.  People need to stop with this "having a life" business ::)

First off... it's awesome and a little humbling that you guys all care so much.

So, full disclosure. I'm going to tell you why I've been gone, and it is absolutely the most nerdy thing ever.

Ptolus. That's why.

The word probably doesn't mean anything to any of you. It's a campaign setting for the Pathfinder Role Playing Game, which is a spin-off of the 3.5 edition of Dungeons and Dragons.

Yeah. I fell into D&D. Again.

We tried a D&D game with our friends' 12-year-old son, and it wasn't working out (he wasn't holding interest), so when we rebooted, another person took over game mastering duty, and I got to make a character. So... that's what happened, a LONG, CRAZY study of what kind of character I was going to make. For those that care, it ended up being a half-orc Investigator (a hybrid of the Rogue and Alchemist classes), and reading through the INSANE number of feat/class/archtype options.

There you go.

I'm a nerd. Like... a SERIOUS nerd.

And... I'm still reading the 'Downtime' rules, and trying to figure out if i want to make some kind of organization.

:D  For some reason I'm not really surprised by that answer, though it seems to prove the old moral panic claim that D&D promotes antisocial behavior......  ;)

In my professional opinion as a nerd, yes, you may well be. You are one of us.

People who empty out their bag and find assorted dice, empty brass, and a couple of SAKs and multis at the bottom are normal people. And when we look at that pile and say "ah, thats where that went" and mean all of it, that just means its a normal day.

BTW.... got space for a Dwarven Ranger (underground/mountain/desert focused) built off the Warden kit in the 2ed Ranger's guide? :)

Welcome back Lynn   I used to be involved in some D&D action several years back with some buddies.  It was fun, but very in depth, and hard to keep focused on when we were all drinking beers and becoming less focused and serious with the game.  It was good fun while it lasted though, and I really enjoyed my character.  I don't remember all the details, but I was a draconian type creature that was basically all about brute force.  Dual melee weapons and whatnot.  We had a good team going.  One of my buddies' character's story was following me around to collect loot from all the destruction/death I would cause :viking:  Oh good times, good times...I miss those days...

I've never played but have known others that do and those RPG's tend to be all time-consuming. People play all hours in the night into the next day(s). It's not for me as these days I have the shortest attention span but I'm glad you're doing something you find enjoyable :tu:

Glad you stopped to say hi :D

Being a lifetime Dragonlance reader and general fantasy book and game genre enthusiast, I'm a little disappointed that I never got into D&D.  I played Magic: The Gathering as a kid, and every Elder Scrolls game like ever, but never D&D.  I do have a good friend who is into it, and because of a recent surge in playing I never see him anymore...

Glad to see you are doing well Lynn, have fun!!

D&D! I almost got it right, I was thinking about something more like raising na army of clones to enforce the can opener superiority of backstroke openers. As I said it was close...

Have fun but don't forget us!

Dammit! It happened again.

Sorry for being mostly silent lately.

And... (sigh)... AGAIN, it was D&D.

See... we started a game of Pathfinder, and I came up with having to fill the role of Rogue. Except I mostly think Rogues suck, so I went looking for an alternative, and came up with Investigator, a recent;y added hybrid class (Rogue/Alchemist). So I had to learn Alchemist class stuff. Then, of course, I had to figure out my level progression so i didn't reach an ugly bottle-neck in the build. And of course that led to looking up what Feats to select, optimize for either melee or range, determine if extra Inspiration was worth it... ugh... You know Gamer Nerd stuff. :D

But I've mostly burned out all possible options, AND the weather is getting nice again, and I feel like goofing with multitools.

Sorry about my long bouts of silence. They in no way reflect on the awesomeness that is MTO. Rather, I fall deeply... disturbingly... into a hobby for periods of time and then out again, cyclicly.
