Resting a well used LD10 and Wenger EvoWood 10 for these two pristine little babies.
If I get on well with the Waiter this month I will probably get a Compact.

84mm single layer SAK and 5mm LED.

I have taken off the Classic Alox and Rally that live on my two bunches of keys, E05 also removed there.

A brother by challenge carry.

Welcome to :MTO:

That was the original plan back when I got the Fuse, but couldn't find one at the right price. The deal I had my eye on sold out just before I decided to go for it  :-\ I do quite like the Scout Jr now though. It doesn't walk and talk as smoothly as the Vics, but it functions well enough, sits comfy in the hand, and I quite like the G10 scales too :D

Yeah, that raises a Rules Inquiry for the commissioner.  Do we have to stick to the same minimalist SAK the whole time, or can you switch between minimalist SAKs?  The former is more in line with the spirit of suffering that this challenge is intended to create.

In general, I think it is more keeping in the spirit to stick with the same knife.

I do think there are some OK exceptions.  For instance myself and Monrogue are making due with what minimal knife we can find until ours arrive, then we will switch.

Also, switching from a pioneer to an SI for Wenger Wednesday seems OK since it is the same tool set.

Still, its all about the fun of the challenge, so whatever floats your boat.  Just fess up if you "cheat."

Agree.

For instance gustophersmob, I and a few other guys chose to go with a single layer SAK (without scissors). If we'd choose to go one layer up and switch to the Compact/Golfer for scissors or Cadet/Spartan/Commander/... for openers and screwdrivers it would still be a SAK withing the requirements but I'd consider it a fail.

I'm going with the most minimal SAK there is; the classic. As long as I can have my P-38 along. I'll ditch any other knife and the pistol for the challenge.

Don't get too serious, just enough will do.

:hatsoff: to all of you who takes part in this challenge.
There is no way I'd be able to do this; at least not with a standard SAK. AFAIK, there isn't any two-layer SAK with inline philips and knifeblade? That's my most used tools and despite of that, my daily carry consists of 1 SAK, 2 MT's and a single OPMT.

Good luck to all of you - it'll be interesting to follow this thread and see how many of you end up going crazy. ;)

Well a Scientist has two layers.  Blade/combo tool, and phillips/mag glass.  But those are tough to come by unless it's a mod.

Found one on ebay for 197 USD  :ahhh

Would be a pretty straightforward mod though...

Definitely not buying an original then! That's close to the buying-value of all my SAK's and multi's together.
But yeah, it shouldn't be hard to make one, if one would be so lucky to have the right skills. ;)

End of Day One...

The Wenger J10 performed flawlessly, taking on cardboard packing boxes, the Phillips dealt with screws from the stupid small( detaining HO cars in their boxes) upto no2 screws on the 1/18 Aston. The combo tool was used for some light prying( a 40ft container from a Krone Stacker if you were wondering). Finally,Junior posed for a few beauty shots :D

No pliers, scissors, small flat drivers or torches were required today.

So far,so very good :D
