Another Hello From Michigan
on: November 08, 2014, 08:29:50 AM
Hi,

I'm Chris and I've lurked for the last week or so and have decided to jump in and share in the fun.

I'm a big fan of SAKs.  The sub forum here dedicated to them is what pushed me to join, so much cool stuff and info there.  I've owned and carried at least one SAK for almost 30 years and for the past 10 have gotten somewhat serious about them.  I not only carry but I also collect.  My collection has grown to 42 pieces, many common with a few not so common, but nothing that a true collector would drool over.  My favorites that I use are my Vic Rambler (always on my key chain), Deluxe Tinker for size to utility ratio, Wenger Highlander for work EDC, and my Vic Fisherman.

The last one ties into one of my other passions: fishing.  I'm a die hard angler that's lucky enough to live in a state that offers a wide variety of fishing opportunities.  I don't own a boat and mainly fish rivers so I have to be able to carry in what I need to get the job done.  I sometimes have to hike for miles and/or crawl through brush to get to my spots, so having the right tools that are easily carried is essential.

I also carry Leatherman multis when the need arises.  My Wave with 40 bits and extender travels with me often.  I have a Streamlight Microstream riding in one of the sheath side holsters.  I keep a Blast in a saddle bag on one of my bikes, and my rotation also includes some of the smaller pocket and keychain sized offerings from Leatherman.

I'm also a fan of anything by Benchmade, Spyderco and Kershaw.  I'm a chef so blades are a big part of my life, on the job or off I always have something sharp on me.

Looking forward to having some fun here!
