Spot the cache
on: November 29, 2014, 08:25:22 PM
I started this as a follow-up of my previous thread http://forum.multitool.org/index.php/topic,56092.msg989508.html
Geocaching is a fun activity, it takes you to strange spooky places, makes you do things you wouldn't, gets you in the wild and helps you see wonderful views.
Some caches are bland (under rocks, in tree hollows etc.), some are ridiculously hard, some are too easy (and easy is what you need in a forest), and than there are the city ones... the ones that you stare at for hours and realise they were under your nose the whole time.
Below you can find a few caches in full view (I have another couple of nice ones photographed on my old PC - hope to upload them when it gets fixed). Can you spot them? Also if you have seen more nice caches hidden in plain sight?

Ow damn.. just switched from tinypic to Picasa today. I guess it wasn't set as public. What about now?

Ah... much better.  :tu:

And by that I mean, I can see the pics, not that I can see the caches IN the pics.  :D

Nopez. Hints:
01 - follow the white arrow
02 - look above
03 - magnetic 17

Skip 04 - it's not really visible as a box. It's the stone in the wall under the big one. You can find it by trying to pry each rock until one budges.

Found another  one on my phone (I spent 45 minutes trying to figure it out) - hope I can find pics of the 2 best ones. Can't go out today as the snow is really high and I still have summer tyres..)

Hint 05: Trainspotting - Between two "high voltage" signs, don't jump the fence, don't bend the metal

Yap. The Bolt is actually a magnet with a small note inside:

Nope, not sure how visible it is in the photo. It is on the back side T's the one on the left. It is a canister/jar painted reddish-brown, same as the well, so it looks to be part of the roof.

Nope  :D

Not sure the resolution is high enough to actually see the cache, but this was the exact spot I was in when I figured out where it was...

Nope, that's where I spent most time looking.

A container, that holds a small log book and sometimes some goodies. Geocaching is a game you play using GPS. People plant caches and you go find them. A lot of fun.

On the overbridge above the train tracks?

Yap... friggin tricksters... All the photos pointed to the railways, it was called trainspotting, but the cache was above... it meant the railing on the overbridge, te caution signs are the two round panels, and do not bend the metal meant the metal sheet as it was hidden behind it... took me over 45 minutes of ssearching bushes and rails and climbing down the revine to realise it was above me...

Found the one I meant to show you initially.
First time spent 25 minutes searching for it, than 30 minutes (dog was barking like mad), third time 45 minutes and fourth time I found it in 30 seconds...
In my defense it was my second Geocache so had little experience and the area was about 4 times as large as in the photo...

Without further ado: picture nr. 5. No hints  :P
